Enzo Temmerman may only be 18, but he’s already turning heads in the motocross world. Hailing from Visalia, California, Enzo has built a reputation not just for speed, but for his resilience and sheer determination, traits that have helped him rise through the amateur ranks and break into the professional scene.
A Start Born from Passion
Motocross runs deep in the Temmerman family. With Belgian roots and a family background steeped in racing, Enzo was on two wheels by the age of two. By five, he was already racing, and it didn’t take long for people to notice his natural talent. Through the 65cc and 85cc classes, and eventually on to national amateur races like Loretta Lynn’s, Enzo racked up strong finishes and developed a reputation as a gritty and competitive racer.
A Brutal Setback
Despite a promising trajectory, 2023 brought a massive challenge. A series of injuries, including a broken femur, collarbone, and wrist, sidelined Enzo and nearly derailed his career. To make matters worse, a post-surgery infection led to additional complications and significant weight loss. It was a low point, physically and mentally.
But Enzo refused to give up. Just months after barely being able to walk, he returned to racing, showing up to a Loretta Lynn’s qualifier while still healing. Riding with a visibly compromised leg, he still managed to qualify, proving not just talent, but a level of toughness that few can match.
Climbing the Ladder in SMX Next
In 2025, Enzo stepped up to SMX Next, the current version of Supercross Futures, and made a big statement. Riding for Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green, he quickly found his rhythm, scoring multiple podiums and earning his first SMX Next win in Birmingham. He followed that up with a gritty second-place finish in Glendale, a race that tested his endurance and showcased his racecraft under pressure.
Despite his competitive edge, Enzo often speaks with maturity beyond his years, focused on learning, staying healthy, and building a solid foundation for a long career.
Stepping Into Pro Motocross
His professional debut came in May 2025 at Fox Raceway in the AMA Pro Motocross 250 class. Racing with amateur equipment against some of the best in the world, Enzo still finished inside the top 20 in both motos, placing him as the top rookie that weekend. It was an impressive start and a clear sign that he belongs in the pro ranks.
